Start With the Pleat, Not the Mesh
Where the layer sits decides what it must do. Pleat support must bend and hold its form; cores and cages must carry load without collapsing; backing must keep soft media flat against air velocity.
Position 01 · Pleat support
Laminated with the nonwoven and pleated together: expanded metal, epoxy coated screen, PP mesh or annealed welded mesh.
Position 02 · Cores and cages
Rolled into the inner tube or outer liner of cartridges and liquid elements: welded mesh or heavier expanded metal.
Position 03 · Backing grid
Laid flat behind bag, pad and panel pre-filter media: welded mesh in galvanized or stainless steel.
